WEEKLY RHYTHM
1. Sunday Snapshot (5 minutes)
Ask your teen to list the week’s key deadlines on a sticky note. Stick it on the fridge or share a quick photo in the family WhatsApp group. Visibility removes the “I didn’t know” excuse and lets you plan transport or study snacks.
2. Midweek Check-in (7 minutes)
On Wednesday evening, sit down with that sticky note. Use these three questions:
- What went better than planned?
- Where do you feel stuck?
- What help do you need from me before Friday?
Keep it conversational—this isn’t an interrogation. If emotions rise, pause and resume later.
3. Friday Review (3 minutes)
Celebrate any completed tasks with something tiny: choosing Saturday’s playlist, picking dinner, or sharing a favourite meme. Then agree on the top priority for the weekend.
When to escalate
If you notice consistent avoidance or panic, loop in a teacher, mentor, or counsellor sooner rather than later. The goal is support, not surprise discipline.
Tools you can print
SmartNote bundles include a Parent Dashboard PDF with prompts, colour-coded trackers, and WhatsApp messages you can copy-paste. It shortens planning time and keeps everyone on the same page.
